Wetlands

Barg Coffin Lewis & Trapp, LLP’s wetlands practice cuts across all aspects of federal and state wetlands laws.  We provide compliance counseling and assist clients in obtaining individual, general and nationwide permits under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, and streambed alteration permits under Section 1603 of the California Fish & Game Code, and defend enforcement actions alleging noncompliance with such permits.  

Our attorneys have broad experience in representing clients as part of Section 7 consultations with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and National Marine Fisheries Service when consultation is required before a Section 404 permit is issued or other federal agency action triggers consultation requirements, as well as assisting in the preparation of practicable alternatives analyses and Section 404(b) guidelines counseling.
